Susan Rawlings

Susan is the senior associate in the family law group at Prowse Barrette LLP.  With over a decade of experience, her focus has always been on deescalating conflict to better solve problems.  Susan is Cree, Metis and English and understands the need for trauma informed practices in our legal systems to ensure that clients feel seen and heard.   Her goal is that her clients feel empowered throughout the difficult process of relationship breakdown and transitioning into co-parenting.

Susan has represented children through the Office of the Child and Youth Advocate and has also been a fierce advocate for parents navigating the child welfare system.  She also has experience in civil litigation, Indigenous rights and Indigenous law making.  She believes that lawyers working in certain fields can aim to help our communities heal.

Susan has a deep interest in wellness and spirituality to keep her healthy and grounded and has a wealth of knowledge in this area through her personal research.  She also enjoys singing, dancing and anything comedy, because laughter truly is wonderful medicine.
